Jobless for 36 Years  | |

Dozing off, hanging around, drinking beer ― Arno Dubel (54) hasn't done a day's work for 36 years. And he's proud of it!
He's Germany's most shameless unemployed man, and he has boldly declared: "Anyone who works is stupid."
But what does the jobless layabout actually do with his time?
BILD has documented a day in the life of the work-shy loafer.
• 6:30am: Dubel wakes up without the need for an alarm clock. He drinks a coffee and smokes a cigarette in the kitchen, then switches the TV on. "I like most to watch talk shows and serials."
• 8:15am: He walks down to the local upmarket supermarket to buy six cans of beer, tobacco, soup and dog food. He chooses not to go to a discount store. "It's too far for me."
• 9am: D?bel feeds his care-dog Jacky and begins to chain-smoke. He goes through a tin of tobacco for €5.95 every day, which comes to €178.50 per month. He receives €323.10 unemployment benefit a month, as well as health insurance and housing benefit on top of that.
• 9:45am: After the hard work of shopping and feeding his dog, he flips through the TV channels. He washes up and does his laundry.
• 1pm: He kills time with a crossword, then it's off to a caf? for a sausage with toast and more television.
• 4.15 pm: Coffee with two neighbors.
• 5pm: D?bel opens a bottle of white wine, which cost €0.89. He spends the evening alone in front of the box. He has never had a girlfriend. He said, "I don't need any complications."
• 10.30pm: A final walk with the dog before watching the TV until midnight.
A day spent doing absolutely nothing is once again over. But at least the 54-year-old is aware that "I've actually dawdled my whole life away."
고교 졸업 후 36년간 백수로 지낸 남자
졸거나 빈둥거리고, 혹은 맥주를 마시거나 _ 독신남 아르노 듀벨 (54)은 고등학교를 졸업한 뒤부터 직업을 가지기는 커녕 36년 동안 단 하루도 일을 한 적이 없다. 더욱 기가 막힌 건 듀벨이 이를 자랑스럽게 생각한다는 것.
독일 일간 빌트는 정부에서 지급하는 보조금으로 생활하는 듀벨을 "독일의 가장 부끄러운 백수"라고 소개한 뒤 그의 일과를 공개했다.
아침 6시 30분 커피한잔으로 여유롭게 하루를 시작하는 듀벨은 다른 사람들이 직장이나 학교를 가거나 혹은 집안일을 시작하는 8시 30분부터 본격적으로 TV를 보기 시작한다.
토크쇼 열혈 팬인 듀벨은 "평균 8시간 TV를 보며 하루 대부분을 보내면서도 짬이 나면 개 밥 주기 이웃들과 커피 마시기, 퀴즈 풀기, 설거지 등을 한다"고 자랑했다.
자정이 다 돼서야 잠이 들지만 그의 빈둥거리는 일과에 잔소리를 할 존재는 없다. 개가 유일한 식구이며 지금껏 "잔소리 듣기 싫다"는 이유로 여자친구도 사귀어 본 적이 없기 때문이다.
듀벨은 정부에서 빌려준 47m²짜리 침실 하나 딸린 아파트에서 실업자 보조금 50만원 (323유로)을 포함한 보조금으로 살고 있다.
듀벨은 "일을 하지 않는 평온한 삶이 만족스럽다"면서 뭣 하러 골치 아프게 욕심을 부리며 사는지 이해가 되지 않는다"고 당당히 '백수 예찬론'을 펼쳤다.

| Only 36 years, that's nothing, in many countries in Europe, there are whole generations of families who have bummed off the benefit system. These vermin wouldn't be so cocky if there were no benefits, and if they lived in 3rd world countries like Bangladesh(for example)where the teeming millions living in squalor like rats would do anything to work for a pittance in a country like Korea (for instance). I hate these useless scum. |

다른나라도 우리나라를 푼돈에도 올인하는 이미지란 말인가; 흠 그나저나 대단한 놈일세...36년동안.. 한번 만나보고 싶네.ㅋㅋㅋ
